Setting up your router
Getting connected to your new router is simple! Follow this easy setup guide to get online quickly and start enjoying fast, reliable internet at home.
Insert your SIM card
For 4G routers: Use the full-size SIM (don’t remove the plastic casing). Open the labelled SIM slot on your router and insert the card.
For 5G routers: Use the Nano SIM. Remove the plastic casing so the SIM is as small as possible. Insert it according to the diagram on your device and push until it clicks into place.
Connect your router to power
Set the router up with only the power cable connected, running into the power socket at the wall. In the initial set up the power cable should be the only thing plugged into the router. Any ethernet network cables can be added once you’ve established a strong connection.
Check the connection signal
A green or blue light indicates a strong connection.
Yellow means a moderate connection.
Red indicates a weak signal.
For optimal internet performance, place your router somewhere elevated from the ground (on a bench or table), without any obstacles. You should also ensure your router is at least 1 metre away from large electronic devices (don’t hide it behind your TV), and away from thick internal walls with a line of sight outdoors.
Connect your devices
Once connected, join your WiFi network using the default network name and password printed on the router’s base.
